Nestled in the heart of the community, the salon has been a trusted destination for generations of families seeking top-notch hair care in a welcoming and homely atmosphere. Their team takes pride in knowing each of their clients by name, fostering a friendly and personal environment that the locals cherish.

A New Chapter

Recognising the need to evolve and stay current, their owner felt it was time to refresh the salon’s brand. This new chapter aims to build a strong online presence and modernise the look while preserving the friendly, welcoming atmosphere that our clients love. The refreshed brand will incorporate the owner's personality, reflecting her warmth, creativity, and commitment to excellence.​
Understanding the Vision.
The project brief required a full brand development: colour pallet, logo, typography, website design and Instagram Strategy. Marketing collateral will be developed in a later stage.

My client approached with a vision to develop a brand strategy for her unisex hair salon in South Dublin. While she knew she wanted a strong online presence and a cohesive brand identity, she was unsure of the specifics.
My Approach
1. Deep Listening: I began by engaging in extensive discussions with the client to understand her goals, preferences, and the core message she wanted to convey. Through thoughtful analysis, I gathered valuable insights into her vision for the salon.
2. Marketing Research: To ensure the brand would stand out, I conducted thorough market research. I analysed the local competition, identified trends in the hair salon industry, and studied the preferences of potential customers in South Dublin.
3. Target Audience: Understanding the primary clientele was crucial. I tailored the brand identity to resonate with families in the local community while still being welcoming to all genders.

1. Logo Design: I designed a versatile and memorable logo that captures the essence of a modern yet vintage-inspired salon. The logo reflects the salon’s commitment to style, and inclusivity.

2. Colour Palette: I selected a colour palette that evokes a sense of nostalgia with vintage-inspired hues that appeal to the primary clientele of women and families.

3. Typography: The fonts chosen for the brand are a blend of modern and vintage styles, ensuring readability and a unique appearance across all platforms. The typography complements the salon’s sophisticated yet approachable vibe.
